10/01/2015 : Workshop on Educational Technology through Theatre – in – Education – A workshop was organised by Parisar Asha on 10th January 2015 at Blooming Buds Convent School in Vithalwadi. Four teachers from the school attended the workshop. The workshop was conducted by Mrs.Seema Ahuja (facilitator) accompanied by the CEO and other members of Parisar Asha. The Session started with a very interesting warm – up activity followed by explanation through some exercises like Word Association, Poem Writing, Story Building, Still Images, Voice Exercises, Practising Meditation and Jaw exercises. The session ended by throwing a light upon softskills, body language and communication.

13/01/2015 : Makar Sankranti Celebration  – The academic year began with the celebration of the auspicious festival Makar Sankranti on 13th January 2015. Pre-Primary students were dressed up in their most gorgeous festive outfits. ‘Tilgul Ghya Aani Godh Godh Bola’ was echoed all over as students exchanged and ate ‘til gul and ladoos’. The students experienced the essence of ‘Uttarayan’ as they enjoyed the kite flying session by the support staff.

16/01/2015 : Animals share a very special bond as a pet. This bonding came alive on 16th January 2015 as the tiny tots of the pre-primary section celebrated ‘Pet Day’ by bringing along their ‘best friend’ – their pet to school. Students took great pride in taking their pets around to all the pre-primary classes and introducing them to their school friends. Their friends in return jumped, yelled and screamed in excitement. It seemed like a big carnival in the school which was thoroughly enjoyed.

17/01/2015 : Training Session on ‘Effective Techniques in Teaching English with specific focus on Grammar was held on 17th Jan’2015 at St.Thomas High School in Kalyan from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm by ‘Oxford University Press’. The resource person for the workshop was Dr.Virender Sharma, a well known ELT expert. The major topics covered in the workshop were phonetics and grammar. Overall the workshop was very stimulating and interesting for the teachers.

17/01/2015 : Field Visit to Hindustan Times for students of Std.VII was organised on 17th Jan 2015. The students were shown the process of printing a newspaper. They also visited different units of the printing press and learnt the transformation of a paper pulp into a newspaper that is delivered to the homes of many everyday. Mr.Ghosh – the resource person was a wonderful source of support to the students in answering their queries.

23/01/2015 : 23rd January 2015 was celebrated as National Leaders Day by the Sr.Kg section. Rani Laxmibai, Indira Gandhi, Shivaji Maharaj, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Maharana Pratap and Narendra Modi were the ‘hot favourites’ on the list of every Sr.Kg  kid. Savitribai Phule made a stupendious wild card entry! Children appeared like mini adults and the pre-primary section buzzed like a busy parliament house in session with all the past and present leaders under the same roof!

26/01/2015 : Republic Day Celebration On 26th January’15 the Republic Day was celebrated on the school ground. The programme started with the welcoming of our chief guest, followed by March Past display by the 4 houses, dance performances, singing performances, a debate and of course hoisting of our tricolor national flag. The programme created a feeling of patriotism and brotherlyhood amongst the students. Jai Hind!

29/01/2015 : White Day was the day of peace and purity – a symbol that colour white depicts. The pre-primary section was dressed in serene white clothes. Classrooms were decorated in white for students to have a feeling of sanctity and so lace. Take away activities of –

Sr.Kg – Straw Bracelets were made and distributed to the kids.    

30/01/2015 : Martya’s Day – In memory of the Father of our Nation – Gandhiji a 2 minute silence was observed by the entire school with the remembrance of the other Martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for our country on 3oth Jan’ 15.
